With the arrival of Summer comes the arrival of the CONO PALLA. The Cono Palla is the Italian version of the drum stick. Please be warned that these are seriously addictive! Vanilla bean gelato encased in Belgium chocolate coated with almonds on a sugar cone. Inside the sugar cone is a layer of chocolate to really amp up the deliciousness!!
Be sure to try this excellent addition to our line up.
The holiday season is just around the corner and many of you are looking for a gift idea for your child’s school teacher, your dog walker, neighbour, etc. Why not consider the gift of gelato!!! We have gift certificates in increments of $10.00 which can be used at any of our retail locations.
We have also just received a new shipment of Panettone. Come on by and check out the different flavours and sizes. The small ones are perfect as stocking stuffers or for when you get the afternoon munchies!! For those of you who are not familiar with Panettone it is a traditional Italian sweet bread loaf. It is usually served at Christmas and Easter time with a glass of champagne. However, it is also delicious with a scoop of gelato and a cup of tea or cappuccino.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving long weekend!
Leanne, one of our fantastic fans, sent us this great picture of her pumpkin pie gelato waffle cone that she enjoyed during the long weekend. If you have a picture of your favorite gelato flavour please send it to us and you might just see your photo on our blog as well.

Did you know that Mario’s Gelati has been a vendor at the Vancouver Folk Festival for 33 years? Two Vancouver institutions coming together for a weekend of great gelato and great music. Be sure to say hello to all our gelato scoopers from July 15-17 at Jericho Park.
The BBQ’s have been dusted off and ready for some grilling action. You can’t have a BBQ without some drinks so dazzle your guests with a sorbetto cocktail. This is so easy to make and your guests will be impressed. All you need is a martini glass, a scoop of lemon sorbetto (preferably Mario’s Gelati), a slice of lemon and last but certainly not least 2 ounces of Martini Bianco. Pour the Martini Bianco directly over the scoop of lemon sorbetto and garnish with the slice of lemon.
Refreshing on a hot summer day and a nice alternative to the classic martini. Enjoy!

The flowers have started to bloom which means the start of wedding season! Many couples are seeking an alternative to the traditional wedding cake and often inquire if we make Gelato Wedding Cakes. The problem with a gelato wedding cake is that it melts!! By the time you cut the 10th piece you would no longer be serving cake but milkshake. A nice alternative could be to serve one of our specialty portions. All of our portions can be sold by the case at your closest Amato Gelato.
